WellPoint's National Government Services Subsidiary Honored With 2009 SC Magazine Professional Award for Best Security Team

INDIANAPOLIS, May 7 /PRNewswire/ -- WellPoint, Inc. (NYSE: WLP) announced today that its National Government Services, Inc. subsidiary has been recognized with SC Magazine's 2009 Professional Award as the Best Security Team. The award for outstanding achievement in information technology (IT) security was made on April 21 at the exclusive SC Awards Gala in San Francisco, CA.

The National Government Services Security Team consists of associates with expertise in Access Management, IT Security & Audit, Disaster Recovery and Policy Administration. Staff Vice President of Information Technology Tim Masheck; Director of Information Security Tim Waggoner; and Senior Technology Managers Chris Moir and Matt Wenzel accepted the award on behalf of the NGS security team.

A panel of 22 judges from major corporations and public sector organizations, which were hand-picked by SC Magazine's editorial team for their breadth of knowledge and experience in the information security industry, chose NGS and the other 2009 Professional Awards winners.
