TSI Healthcare and Richmond Academy of Medicine Announce Partnership

Posted on: Wednesday, 27 May 2009, 09:03 CDT

CHAPEL HILL, N.C., May 27 /PRNewswire/ -- The Richmond Academy of Medicine (RAM) and TSI Healthcare, Inc. (TSI) have announced a definitive alliance in which TSI will provide Electronic Health Records (EHR), Billing Systems and other IT Services to members of the Academy under a "Preferred Client" arrangement. Financial details of the new partnership were not released. However the new agreement includes preferred pricing and additional incentives for physicians seeking the advantages of the 2009 HITECH Stimulus Bill.

RAM members have expressed their optimism about the partnership and the outstanding resources available to them through the new relationship with TSI. Dr. Johnny C.L. Wong, President of the RAM, states that "since EHR is becoming such a vital part of today's medical practice, we are working to provide Richmond Academy of Medicine members with outstanding EHR information and vendor affiliations. We are pleased to announce our new affiliate sponsorship with TSI Healthcare and we hope that our members will benefit from this new alliance."

With EHR adoption advancing exponentially, TSI is working to provide RAM members with the necessary services to implement the appropriate EHR solutions. The systems offered by TSI are designed to provide physicians with increased efficiencies and profitability while simultaneously helping to improve patient care. TSI's President and CEO, David Dickson Jr., will speak to the academy announcing the benefits of the affiliate sponsorship as well as details of the offerings available to them. "This partnership represents our shared interest in propelling the advantages of the new law for the mutual benefit of physicians and their patients. We believe RAM members can provide and receive great value through the successful implementation of TSI's proven products and services," says Dickson.

Under the 2009 HITECH Stimulus Law, $19 billion has been allocated to physicians for successful implementation of healthcare information technology, namely EHRs. Individual physicians are eligible for up to $44,000 per qualified provider for the "meaningful use" of these systems if the adoption occurs before 2011. According to both Dr. Wong and Mr. Dickson, this was the catalyst behind their partnership which is helping physicians take advantage of the incentives available to them in a timely manner.

The Richmond Academy of Medicine includes approximately 1,700 physicians and covers healthcare providers in the Greater Richmond area. TSI Healthcare is a national leader in health information systems selection and implementation and currently offers services to physician groups in more than 12 states.
