Ratcliff Promotes Jorge Burbano to Senior Associate; Tess Kavanagh and Tony Keung to Associate

EMERYVILLE, Calif., June 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Ratcliff promoted Jorge Burbano to senior associate and project architects Tess Kavanagh and Tony Y. Keung to associate this month. Jorge Burbano, LEED(R) AP, has more than 20 years of architectural design experience. He is currently guiding the design of several projects, including the master plan site selection for the VA Campus in Livermore, Calif.; the master plan and conceptual design for a new art and music facility and pool/athletic support space for Junipero Serra High School in San Mateo, Calif.; and the implementation of the master plan for Golden Gate University in San Francisco. Burbano has been awarded the American Institute of Architects Alpha Rho Chi Medal. He earned his bachelor's degree in architecture from the Universidad Autonoma de Centro America in 1985 and his master's degree in architecture from the University of New Mexico in 1990.
With more than 13 years of experience, architect Tess Kavanagh is assisting with the design of the Mediated Learning Center at De Anza College in Cupertino, California. She recently completed work on the new Student Services Center for Golden Gate University in San Francisco and assisted with the design of the new medical office building for Kaiser Permanente in Petaluma, California. Prior to joining Ratcliff, Kavanagh was employed by Bechtel and worked on the Dubai International Airport in the United Arab Emirates. She earned her master's degree in architecture from the University of California, Berkeley, and her bachelor's degree in environmental design from the University of California, Davis.
Tony Y. Keung is currently assisting in the design of the new south addition at Berkeley Law, University of California, Berkeley. His previous projects with Ratcliff include the Bancroft Library seismic and programmatic improvements at the University of California, Berkeley; Berkeley City College's new campus; and the new medical office building, interior renovation and furniture, fixtures and equipment for Kaiser Permanente's Santa Rosa campus. Keung earned his master's degree in architecture from the University of Pennsylvania, and his bachelor's degree in architectural engineering technology from the University of Hartford.
