U.S. Veterans Health Administration Goes Live With Foresight's InStream
Posted on: Monday, 11 July 2005, 12:01 CDT
COLUMBUS, Ohio, July 11 /PRNewswire/ -- The Veterans Health Administration (VHA), with the assistance of PricewaterhouseCoopers, has put Foresight Corporation's InStream(R) solution into production to validate health care claims transactions against HIPAA and other guidelines, filter out and return claims with errors, and speed the repair and resubmission of these bad claims. The VHA is America's largest health care delivery network.
InStream pre-screens thousands of VHA claims daily, finding and splitting out the few bad claims from their batches, and sending reports on these failed claims to the VHA's billing departments. There, InStream's "plain English" reports speed the process of retrieving the bad claims, correcting the errors, and resubmitting them to the VHA's processing system.
"InStream detects data quality errors before they are sent on to trading partners. Analysis of the InStream error report allows for correction of data sources and the identification of systemic problems. This ultimately results in not only the correction of the current error, but also the prevention of future problems," Jack Joseph, Manager, Healthcare Advisory Practice, PricewaterhouseCoopers, said.
"Health care organizations seek a return on their investment in HIPAA standardization," Robert Fisher, Foresight CEO, said. "InStream helps payers and their EDI trading partners meet this business goal by ensuring regulatory compliance and, at the same time, improving their transaction processing operations."
