Glen’s Markets Adds Discounted Generic Drug Program

Now 30-day prescriptions for $4 and 90-day prescriptions for $10

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich., June 19 /PRNewswire/ — All Glen’s Markets pharmacies serving communities throughout northern Michigan are pleased to now offer a generic drug program for 30 day prescriptions for $4 and 90 day prescriptions for only $10 -two new programs offering lower prices on over 300 generic drugs to meet the healthcare needs and healthcare budgets of our customers, especially important during this challenging economic times.

“Our expanded generic drug program is another example of the many ways we are making it easier for customers to stretch their food, healthcare, and household dollars,” said Alan Hartline, Executive Vice President Merchandising. “Our customers can continue to rely on the expert health counsel and friendly service our team of professional pharmacists consistently offer,” added Hartline.

This new program introduced in November 2008 to our Cheboygan Glen’s Market’s customers has proven both popular and successful with our customers. Prior to broadening the program throughout the 13 Glen’s Markets pharmacies, the program was introduced in Gaylord in (March, 2009) and in Kalkaska (May, 2009) to coincide their the grand re-openings of these stores following their extensive remodels.

The generic drug program also complements several other programs Glen’s Markets are offering customers to help them stretch their food, fuel, healthcare and household budgets.

Glen’s Markets In-Store Pharmacy Program Specifics

The $4 and $10 generic drug program covers more than 300 drugs prescribed in 30-day supplies. A complete list of medications (by brand, condition, and generic name) is included with this press packet. Conditions include: allergies, anti-inflammatory, antibiotics, anticoagulants, antidepressants, antifungals, antihistamine, antipsychotics, antiviral, anxiety, asthma, cancer, cholesterol, cough/cold, dental health, diabetes, diuretic, ear analgesic, gastrointestinal, glaucoma, gout, heart, heart/blood pressure, hormone, muscle relaxant, nervous system, Parkinson’s, skin treatments, supplements, thyroid, urinary analgesic, urinary tract, and vitamins.

Generic vs. Name Brand

Generic drugs are a less expensive alternative to name-brand drugs. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA), requires that all drugs be safe and effective.
