AMERIGROUP Corporation Elects Hala Moddelmog to Board of Directors

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va., Aug. 5, 2009 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — AMERIGROUP Corporation (NYSE: AGP) announced today that Hala Moddelmog, President and Chief Executive Officer of Susan G. Komen for the Cure(R), has been unanimously elected to the Company’s Board of Directors.

The Board of Directors elected Moddelmog effective Aug. 5, 2009, and she will stand for re-election to the Board at the Company’s 2010 annual meeting of stockholders.

For the past three years, Moddelmog, 53, has led Susan G. Komen for the Cure, a nonprofit organization that is a national leader in the fight against breast cancer. She is herself a survivor of the disease. Prior to her current position, she enjoyed a 20-year career in the food services industry that included serving as President of Church’s Chicken, an international restaurant chain, and founding her own consulting and investment company, Catalytic Ventures.

Moddelmog has held executive management and marketing positions with Church’s Chicken, Arby’s Franchise Association and BellSouth. She has previously served on the boards of directors of Fiesta Brands, Inc. and HyperActive Technologies, and on the boards of trustees of Georgia Southern University Foundation and Clark Atlanta University. She currently serves as a director of AMN Healthcare Services, Inc.

A resident of the Dallas-Fort Worth area, Moddelmog graduated from Georgia Southern University and completed graduate work at the University of Georgia.
