HOUSTON, Aug. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Rockport Healthcare Group, a national preferred provider organization (PPO) focused exclusively on workers' compensation, has announced its recent network certification in the state of Georgia. The company is one of a select few to achieve this certification, which covers all 159 counties in the state.
Rockport offers access to leading workers' compensation providers for third party administrators, managed care oganizations, employers and carriers looking to control rising healthcare costs related to the treatment of workplace injuries. Rockport's network certification in Georgia highlights their commitment to bringing an enhanced level of competition to the workers' compensation marketplace, and to returning employees to work quickly and safely.
Doug Markham, Chief Operating Officer for Rockport, noted that the goal to obtain the certification was driven by requests from current and prospective clients. "With just a handful of companies willing to commit the time and resources to become certified, our customers recognized that the addition of another certified network would bring new options, increased flexibility and competition, and ultimately help improve the quality of the work comp market in the state," explained Markham. "We listened to our clients, allocated the resources to build a quality network, and are now in the position to help bring new service options to the marketplace."
The State of Georgia developed their guidelines for work comp PPO networks after an intensive study of the needs of employers, including accessibility to a wide range of qualified providers and specialists. To become certified, companies must meet a rigorous set of requirements that provide employers with assurances that the network delivers the level of expertise, depth and service necessary to meet their needs.
"By composing 12 multi-county Geographic Service Areas across the state, we are able to provide comprehensive coverage with the State of Georgia's stamp of approval," said Mark Neer, Senior Vice President, Business Development at Rockport. "Our network development team has worked diligently over the past 18 months toward this objective, and we are pleased to offer a high-quality, certified PPO network to current and prospective clients."
