Drink Up! SCAN Health Plan Quenches Thirst of Area Seniors With 1,000 Cases of Bottled Water From Community Water Drive

PHOENIX, Aug. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- The extreme heat can make summer a dangerous time for local seniors, especially as it contributes to dehydration. To draw attention to this important issue, SCAN Health Plan Arizona challenged its business partners to a community water drive. SCAN agreed to match up to 200 cases of water donated by each organization. As a result, more than 1,000 cases of bottled water have been distributed to local community organizations and senior centers.
In July, SCAN delivered hundreds of cases to Set Free Ministries and The Heat Relief Efforts. Organizations that stepped forward to donate water for the community water drive include Synergy Home Care; Preferred Home Care; AccentCare at Home, Inc.; Sonora Quest Laboratories; Professional HomeCare Services; Urgent Home Care and At-Home Solutions.

"The community water drive offered a great way for SCAN and its trusted partners to fill a need for local seniors and draw attention to dehydration, a very serious issue seniors face in Arizona's intense summer heat."
