St. Jude Appoints New Senior Vice President of Public Relations

MEMPHIS, Tenn., Aug. 13 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Mary Lynn Carver has joined St. Jude Children's Research Hospital as senior vice president of public relations. Carver comes to Memphis, Tenn. from London where she was most recently global head of group internal communications at AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals' world headquarters. In her new role, Carver will oversee communications strategy and the management of public relations activities for St. Jude.

Carver comes to St. Jude with extensive experience in health care communications with a focus on oncology, scientific public relations, public affairs and marketing communications.

Since 1998, Carver has served in several capacities at AstraZeneca, including executive director of communications for their U.S. business in Wilmington, Del., and senior director of oncology public affairs, which included management of the AstraZeneca Health Care Foundation and the National Breast Cancer Awareness Month initiative.

Carver's prior experience also includes marketing communications, public relations and investor relations. She is a graduate of Southern Methodist University in Dallas.
