New Survey Confirms That Americans Are Stressed About Work and the Economy; Men's Stomachs and Women's Faces Pay the Price

Posted on: Friday, 14 August 2009, 08:54 CDT

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich., Aug. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Work and economy related stress is taking its toll on Americans' faces and stomachs, according to a new independent survey conducted by American Laser Centers, the largest provider of non-invasive aesthetic services in the U.S. Almost half of the respondents who took part in the survey (47 percent) currently feel some stress, while only five percent report feeling no stress.

The physical toll of their stress is also becoming clear: 86 percent of respondents indicate that they have a physical reaction to stress, with women's faces and men's abdominal region being most affected. Not surprisingly, the two top factors contributing to people's stress are related to work (56 percent) and the economy (51 percent).

There were approximately 575 total respondents to the independent electronic survey. Complete results can be downloaded at www.americanlaser.com/survey/survey.pdf.
