Dr. Robert C. Johnson to Serve on MedicAlert Board of Directors

TURLOCK, Calif., July 14 /PRNewswire/ -- MedicAlert(R), the leading nonprofit healthcare informatics organization, recently welcomed Dr. Robert C. Johnson as its newest board member. As a director of the board, he will work closely with the board's chairman, Barney Tresnowski, and other board members to further MedicAlert's mission.
Dr. Johnson is a widely known expert and sought after speaker in the pharmacy and healthcare management industry. He is currently the Assistant Dean and Adjunct Professor at Midwestern University College of Pharmacy, Glendale Arizona. In addition, he is president of R.C. Johnson Associates, a health care management consulting firm.
As the retired Chairman and CEO of PCS Health Systems, Dr. Johnson was responsible for managing health care coverage for over 51 million Americans. He oversaw prescription benefit plans for more than 30,000 clients and managed data collection and claims processing of over $7 billion dollars of prescription drugs. He also served as Corporate Vice President for Government Affairs for the McKesson Corp., a Fortune 100 company. Dr. Johnson is the past president of the American Pharmacists Association and he also served on the Medicare Drug Coverage Advisory Commission of the Center for Medicare/Medicaid Services. He has also provided advisory and consulting services to various organizations and agencies, including the U. S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the U. S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.
