Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition Hosts Annual Conference

EPHRATA, Pa., Sept. 16 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ – The Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition (PBCC) Annual Conference will be held on Wednesday, October 14, 2009 at the Harrisburg Hilton & Towers from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

The PBCC brings four influential award winners to the 2009 Annual Conference. The Pink Ribbon Award will be presented to Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz, US House of Representatives, Appropriations Committee, and Senator Vincent J. Hughes, Pennsylvania State Senate, Minority Chair, Health & Welfare Committee.

In addition, the Vivian and Meyer P. Potamkin Foundation Award for Breast Cancer Research will be awarded to Joseph M. Serletti, MD, FACS, Chief, Division of Plastic Surgery, University of Pennsylvania Health System, Perelman Center for Advanced Medicine. Linda C. Rhodes, Ed. D, Co-Author, PBCC’s Breast Cancer: Covered or Not? A Guide on Insurance, will be honored with the Shining Light Award.

The conference kicks-off with an evening reception on Tuesday, October 13 at 6:00 p.m. There, the PBCC will honor Grassroots Partners for their dedication to spreading the message of breast cancer awareness and early detection through unique fundraising and community outreach events throughout the year.
