Jack and Goldie Wolfe Miller Fund Helps WHF Carry Out Mission, Including a Complete Web Resource & Educational Events
CHICAGO, Oct. 5 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Women's Health Foundation (WHF) has been named the recipient of a grant from the Jack and Goldie Wolfe Miller Fund, an endowment of the Jack Miller Family Foundation. The fund is one of many exciting announcements that lead WHF into the Fall season.
The support of the Jack Miller Family Foundation helps further WHF's mission to improve the pelvic health and wellness of women across the globe. Funding helps drive cutting-edge research initiatives, develop national education and fitness programs and nurture the communities that rely on WHF as a top resource for issues of pelvic wellness.
With the launch of the non-profit's newly redesigned website, WHF's impact is as strong online as it is through their special events, research and programs across the country.
NEW SITE FOR Powerful women in charge of their bodies and lives
Thanks to a generous grant from the Taproot Foundation, the advancements of www.womenshealthfoundation.org make the site the only complete resource for women's pelvic health and wellness on the web. New features and information include:
- Health Topics, which is information on pelvic ailments that affect millions of women each year.
- Understanding the Pelvis, a complete source for up-to-date pelvic research and resources.
- Life Stage Events, a guide to the female body throughout pregnancy, menopause, etc.
- News and Events, with the latest on what the WHF is up to,
- Missy's Blog: will discuss the latest research, studies and WHF programs like Sex, Chocolate and Your Pelvic Floor and Women in Health Connection.
RESEARCH AND PROGRAMS MAKING AN IMPACT THIS FALL
WHF recently announced the research findings from a multi-site comparative study of the Foundation's Total Control Platinum fitness and educational program for senior women. This study assessed the program's impact on overactive bladder symptoms of women living in residential living centers.
Missy Lavender, WHF's Executive Director, said "The potential of this program to change women's lives is huge. Nearly one in three women over the age of 60 experience bladder control problems. This program allows them to gain control over a health condition that they have endured in silence for years."
On Thursday, October 22 from 12-2 pm at the Evanston Golf Course, 4401 Dempster Street, Skokie, IL will be "Sex, Chocolate and Your Pelvic Floor." At this event, nationally renowned sex experts will educate and empower event participants to aspire to their most sensual and sexy self and educate people to improve their overall sexual health from the inside out.
"Women in Health Connection" will take place on November 11, 2009 from 6-8 pm at the Evanston Hospital, Frank Auditorium, 2650 Ridge Avenue, Evanston, IL. This free, women's-only educational event will feature a broad panel of women's health experts responding to audience questions. Attendees are encouraged to bring their health-related questions to the event.
