University Physician Associates Selects PDS to Increase Clinical and Operational Transparency with Physicians
KANSAS CITY, Mo., Oct. 6 /PRNewswire/ — University Physician Associates (UPA), the faculty practice for University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine, has selected PDS to implement the PRISM suite of tools for data warehousing, analytics, and dashboard reporting.
PDS is building a star-schema data warehouse from transactional data extracted out of UPA’s Allscripts-Misys Vision practice management system. The PDS PRISM Analytics platform derives unique data marts to provide a dimensional perspective of performance management across all organizational layers, while fully automating the production and distribution of dashboards.
“Ultimately, our primary objective is to increase clinical and operational transparency with our physicians,” according to Tom Syverson, Chief Financial & Operations Officer at UPA. “The time and manual effort required to accomplish this objective was prohibitive, and PDS has a strong track record in working with large group practices to achieve process efficiency, while enabling broader execution of our business strategy through their analytics and dashboarding tools,” says Syverson.
UPA physicians and managers will access dashboards through PDS PRISM Portal+, a web-based reporting platform that allows users to securely view their dashboards and perform ad hoc query of specific data elements. In addition, PDS will implement a series of Revenue Opportunity Dashboards© to be used by UPA management to quantify opportunity cost associated with underperformance in RVU productivity, E & M coding, and charge lag.
“We look forward to deploying our suite of performance management tools for UPA and tuning the implementation to meet their overarching strategy,” says Russell Hendrickson, President of PDS. “Engaging providers with meaningful metrics and benchmarks has a direct impact on modifying behaviors and practice patterns, and consequently, the related performance improvement benefit is unified across the organization,” says Hendrickson.
Serving the healthcare industry for over a decade, PDS offers a wide array of products and services for analytics, decision support, data warehousing, and reporting. PDS clients include academic group practices, health systems, and medical clinics. For additional information, please visit www.pds-online.com
