SOUTHFIELD, Mich., Oct. 7 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ – Each year, an estimated 800,000 Americans will suffer some form of accident-related brain injury in which the victims survive, but their lives, and those of their families, can become a living nightmare. Brain injury victims can suffer from a multitude of problems, including headaches, loss of balance, visual disturbances, confusion, depression and sleep disturbances.

Careforward, an organization dedicated to providing auto injury case management is hosting an evening of mingling, martinis and murder during the “Mysterious Murder Masquerade” on Friday, Oct. 23 at 6:30 p.m. at the Whitney Mansion in Detroit, a benefit for the 4th annual Carnival of Care, a free event for survivors with traumatic head injuries and their caregivers.

The interactive theatre performance will feature musical performances, guest appearances and live jazz from the 1920s. The event includes a cash bar cocktail hour with appetizers, two-course dinner followed by strolling dessert buffet. This event is being presented by signature event planner Kathy Krajewski from Double Exposure.

The Murder Mystery event is the first-ever fund raiser for Carnival of Care, a free, one-day event dedicated to head injury survivors that celebrates the human spirit with a carnival-like atmosphere filled with games, music and food.

Deborah Johnson, RN, CCM, brain injury specialist and president of Careforward established Carnival of Care seeking to provide relief to head injury victims and caregivers. “I noticed the devastating effect catastrophic auto accidents had on the injured person and their family. The lasting effects were incredibly difficult and isolating to all involved. I wanted to create an event that was filled with joy and fun,” said Johnson.

Mysterious Murder Masquerade event sponsors include Special Tree Rehabilitation, Guardian Angel Health Care, Health Care Partners Homecare and Affordable Home Care. Sponsorships are still available. Tickets for the event are $500 for a table of four; $230 per couple; or $125 for individuals. Ticket and sponsorship costs are tax deductible to the extent of the law.
