Charlotte Business Owners Raise Money for Cancer By Losing Weight

The owners of web development firm ClickCom.com, John and Nick DiCristo, are losing weight for cancer. From July 18 to October 10, brothers John and Nick DiCristo will participate in a weight loss competition dubbed I Hate My Fat: Lose Weight for Cancer, which will raise money for the American Cancer Society.
Supporters may choose to either pledge a dollar amount per pound of weight loss - with final donation amounts to be determined by actual weight loss - or, to donate a flat amount. To pledge, visit www.ihatemyfat.com. All of the money raised will benefit the American Cancer Society.
Health concerns fostered the idea for I Hate My Fat: Lose Weight for Cancer. The DiCristo family has a history of cancer and both brothers were recently encouraged by their doctors to lose a few pounds to help prevent the disease. The intent is that the twelve week fitness challenge will not only improve the overall health of the DiCristos, but it will also raise funds and awareness for the American Cancer Society.
John and Nick plan to shape up with the help of a personal trainer and nutrition coach, George Maoury of Dynamic Sports Performance, and Peak Fitness, who donated two one-year memberships. By sticking to a strict nutrition plan and working out regularly, the DiCristos plan to lose between 20 and 30 pounds each.
Before the completed makeover is revealed, ReGenesis Medical Spa & Wellness Center will augment their new physiques with a skin peel, microdermabrasion treatment and therapeutic massage. To finish the look, personal image consultant Michael Deckman of Deckman Apparel will tailor fit new suits for the DiCristo brothers. The final makeover results and the grand fundraising total will be posted on www.ihatemyfat.com when the competition ends on October 10.
