ASTRO Promotes Three; Focuses on Government Relations and Health Care Policy

FAIRFAX, Va., July 19 /U.S. Newswire/ -- The American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology is pleased to announce a round of promotions for key members of both the Government Relations and Health Care Policy and Economics departments. Brad Gruehn has been promoted to Assistant Director of Legislative Affairs, Roshunda Drummond-Dye was elevated to Government Relations Senior Policy Analyst and Jenna Kappel was named Assistant Director of Health Care Policy and Economics.

All three staff members have been instrumental in ASTRO's increased presence and influence on Capitol Hill and within government health care-related agencies, including the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

Mr. Gruehn helped ASTRO create its first ever political action committee, ASTRO PAC. He also was instrumental in launching ASTRO's Annual Legislative Training and Advocacy Day, which has grown enormously over the first two years.

Ms. Drummond-Dye has worked diligently to help address workforce issues within radiation oncology. She has also helped shepherd ASTRO's Nuclear Radiologic Task Force that aims to ensure that all hospitals have staff members with the proper training to respond to a nuclear or radiologic emergency.

Ms. Kappel has worked tirelessly to help ensure that ASTRO members are conforming to proper coding in addition to creating in- roads with major health regulatory organizations. During her tenure, she helped complete ASTRO's radiation oncology coding user's guide.
