Enjoy Eden: Lichfield's Hoar Cross Hall Health Spa

Posted on: Wednesday, 20 July 2005, 06:00 CDT

THE ever increasing number of people booking for pamper days has led local health spa Hoar Cross Hall to launch its new Eden Day Spa.

Housed in a purpose-built annexe to the grade II listed hall just beyond Yoxall, Eden aims to offer day visitors everything they could want from a health spa.

And they are in no way being short-changed - pools, classes and a host of luxurious treatments are on offer, as well as lunch and cafe facilities.

Pride of place has to go to the pools area. A sauna, saunarium and steam room are complemented by a walk-through series of hot and cold showers and mists.

The pool features water massage bays and two jacuzzis, while an Aqua Massage Centre includes a series of five rooms featuring waterfalls, powerful water jets and a plunge pool. I headed straight to the pool area which meant that it was quiet and there was plenty of room in all of the individual features - and also ensured I had time for a 90-minute yoga class afterwards. Part of an extensive programme of classes, choices also include spin, circuit, dance, stretch, tai chi and the scary sounding 'killer combo', although classes vary daily.

Day packages start at Relaxed for pounds 65 for full use of the facilities plus an excellent lunch, and there is a choice of other packages, including treatments, while additional therapies can be added.

I enjoyed the pounds 160 Pampered package which includes an Elemis Advanced Performance Facial and Deep Tissue Muscle Massage.

However, on another occasion I would opt for the basic package and add a treatment of choice, as the range is excellent. l For more information, visit www.edenspa.co.ukor call 01283 575678
