MUMBAI, India, March 3, 2010 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — Hexaware
Technologies, a leading global provider of IT & BPO services and consulting,
today announced the launch of HPower10, an innovative solution that will help
in assessment and transition for the International Classification of Diseases
(ICD). This automated solution designed for healthcare customers will provide
for transitioning from ICD-9 to ICD-10 without human intervention. HPower10,
a secure and non-intrusive solution will provide comprehensive diagnosis
across all affected IT systems on open and legacy platforms.

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has mandated
compliance for all healthcare players and providers with ICD-10 code sets by
October 1, 2013. This transitioning from ICD-9 to ICD-10 will tremendously
impact all aspects of the Healthcare marketplace

“ICD-9 is being expanded from 17,000 to approximately 141,000 ICD-10
codes. Our HPower10 solution facilitates an accelerated and seamless
transition to ICD-10. Our domain and technical experts at Hexaware have a
sound understanding of the transition challenges that healthcare
organizations and personnel will face when their systems undergo the switch.
With our proven program management skills and our accurate impact assessment
reports, we will help clients smoothen the transition and continue their
normal course of business,” said Ramanan Seshadri, Vice President Healthcare
and Lifescience practice, Hexaware Technologies, North America.

HPower10 provides a quick, automated assessment of systems and estimates
for planning and implementing the entire ICD 9 t0 10 transition lifecycle. It
identifies the probable business impact by analyzing historical ICD-9 data
and generates analytical reports customized for various stakeholder groups.
It also improves efficiency of coding and minimizes training time using
comprehensive mapping tools. It provides automated data validation scripts to
ensure data accuracy for migration of historical ICD-9 data to ICD-10 while
aiding accelerated code conversion and testing.

Hexaware’s HPower10 solution is based on General Equivalence Mappings
(GEMs), the comprehensive, bi-directional translation dictionary created by
Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and the Centers for Disease
Control and Prevention (CDC). The key features include:

    - Cross platform compatibility across all open relational
database systems on Windows and Linux environments
    - Compatibility for all versions of systems from old legacy to
      the newer platforms.
    - Out of the box customizable reports for key stakeholders
    - Rich schema design that supports multiple versions of
existing and new ICD codes and GEMs
