AXA Advisors South Florida Volunteers Spend Day with Local ICFH Pre-School Children
The Day of Service Focus Was to Foster a Positive Self-Image in Disadvantaged Kids
MIAMI, June 8 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — Every year AXA people nationwide participate in an AXA Day of Service volunteer project. AXA offices in communities across the country donate time and energy to local nonprofit organizations. This year AXA Advisors Miami joined the All-Aboard Educational Program at the Institute for Child & Family Health (ICFH) for a day of volunteering with our pre-school children inspiring them to become lifelong learners. AXA Volunteers spent the day with local disadvantaged children three years old and not yet attending kindergarten participating in activities that foster a positive self-image in each child and facilitated in their intellectual, social, and emotional development.
“We are very proud to align ourselves with such a noteworthy organization,” said, Luis G. Chiappy, Executive Vice President, National Division and Branch Manager of the South Florida Branch “as a branch we look forward to volunteering with ICFH and giving back to the community.”
ICFH knows that children who enter kindergarten eager to learn are more likely to succeed in school and, later in life. Having the volunteers read to them out loud enriches their language and literacy skills. They also had the opportunity to bond with the children teaching them a variety of cognitive and social skills.
“AXA Advisors South Florida has been volunteering with us for the last eight years,” said Alina Plasencia, Director of Development & Marketing for ICFH, “we are very grateful to them for their support and generosity.”
