Misys Healthcare Systems Expands Electronic Payer Connections to Provide Better Service for Medical Professionals; Adds Direct Link to Blue Cross Blue Shield of Louisiana

Misys Healthcare Systems - a leader in healthcare IT - today announced that it has expanded its electronic transmission payer connections by adding a direct link to Blue Cross Blue Shield of Louisiana. This new connection - used for claims processing, automated payment posting and soon, eligibility checking - streamlines electronic transaction processing from medical offices to the Louisiana-based payer.

Misys Healthcare Systems' M. Transaction Services (www.mtsedi.com), a national healthcare electronic data interchange (EDI) service provider that processes more than 420 million electronic transactions per year, uses a combination of direct payer connectivity and intermediary links to connect to more than 830 insurance payers in the United States. The new link with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Louisiana provides Misys' 92,000 physician clients at 18,000 medical practice locations nationally with direct access to the payer.

Details of the agreement between M. Transaction Services and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Louisiana were not disclosed.
