Quality Care Solutions Inc. (QCSI(R)), a leading provider of advanced information technology and enterprise application software and services for health plans, announced today Medicare Part D functionality available in its QNXT 3.2 system and QNXT A/R application. QCSI takes the lead with Part D program management and prescription drug benefit plans capabilities that offer health plans the ability to quickly enter the Medicare Part D market with minimal impact to current operations. QCSI's release of QNXT 3.2 solidifies its leadership position, and comes on the heels of being cited by a global independent research company as a leader for healthcare claims platforms, claims platforms for consumer-directed health and claims platforms with integrated medical management.
As a result of the Medicare Prescription Drug, Improvement and Modernization Act of 2003 (MMA):
-- The QNXT system has been enhanced to allow health plans to configure and manage programs for Part D prescription drug coverage and identify each beneficiary's specific pharmacy plan selection;
-- Among hundreds of features, QNXT can administer the enrollment and accounts receivable aspects including several direct payment options, as well as SSA, RRB and OPM payment methods, low-income subsidy payments from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), and late enrollment penalties;
-- Medicare Part D-related member attributes in QNXT allow health plans to submit members to CMS for acceptance, as well as enable health plans to calculate their expected payments from CMS.
"We planned a timely release of QNXT 3.2 with Medicare Part D capabilities and other new functionality to help health plans enter the growing Medicare market. QNXT has a user-friendly, Web-browser interface, powerful processing and an elegant infrastructure to handle the complex intricacies of today's health plans," stated Dave Engert, CEO of QCSI. "Integrating Medicare capabilities into the QNXT system is part of delivering health information technologies that improve quality and reduce the costs of healthcare."
