Theragenics Corporation(R) Secures Major GPO Agreement; Company Will Supply Both TheraSeed(R) AND I-Seed to Amerinet Members

Theragenics Corporation(R) (NYSE: TGX), a provider of brachytherapy and wound closure products that include TheraSeed(R), its premier palladium-103 prostate cancer treatment device and its CP Medical product line, today announced that it has been awarded a contract to offer discounted pricing on brachytherapy seeds to the members of the Amerinet group purchasing organization (GPO). Theragenics(R) will offer contract pricing on both its palladium-103 brachytherapy product, TheraSeed(R), and its iodine-125 product, I-Seed, to Amerinet's 23,000 plus members. Amerinet is based in St. Louis, Missouri. This award establishes Theragenics as one of the sources for brachytherapy seeds as part of a dual-source contract, and has a three-year term that commences September 1, 2005.

Commenting on the award, Ms. M. Christine Jacobs, Chief Executive Officer and President of Theragenics, stated, "We are pleased to have the opportunity to work with Amerinet.
