Media Alert – Incoming President to Carry the Health Transformation Torch

OTTAWA, Aug. 25 /PRNewswire/ – The business portion of the Canadian Medical Association’s (CMA) annual meeting will culminate with the inaugural speech of incoming president, Dr. Jeff Turnbull. Dr. Turnbull takes over the presidency of the CMA for 2010-2011. His inaugural speech will set out his vision for the next year, and his strategy to advance the health transformation direction given by delegates at the annual meeting.

Over 200 physician delegates have converged in Niagara Falls to attend the CMA’s 143rd annual meeting of General Council from August 23-25, 2010 at the Sheraton on the Falls Hotel.

Delegate’s motions and the incoming President’s inaugural address are among the highlights of the last day of deliberations. The installation ceremony and the CMA’s award ceremony will be held in the evening at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Niagara Falls. This year, the CMA is recognizing ten exceptional individuals including dedicated physicians, talented medical students and outstanding health advocates.
