Rep. Xavier Becerra to Receive Health Care Champion Award

LOS ANGELES, Oct. 14 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — Congressman Xavier Becerra (CA-31) will be honored for his ongoing effort to improve access to health care services for patients in underserved and rural areas when he receives the California Hospital Association (CHA) Health Care Champion Award during a special ceremony at 5:30 pm, Monday, October 18, 2010 at Childrens Hospital Los Angeles.
The award recognizes Rep. Becerra for his leadership and dedicated commitment to patient care during the health care reform debate in Congress earlier this year. As a leader in the House of Representatives, Rep. Becerra was able to preserve $3 billion in Medicare funds for California hospitals.
