Derangement of a patient's blood volume is a prime disturbance in congestive heart failure patients. Physicians treating these patients are faced with a difficult dilemma in treating these patients with the optimum combination of diuretics and vasodilators. Recent published studies in Circulation and the American Journal of Cardiology from cardiologists utilizing the blood volume analyzer, have demonstrated the importance of correcting a patient's blood volume as well as treating hidden anemia, which is a common problem in heart failure. The BVA-100 Blood Volume Analyzer is a tool that enables a physician to treat congestive heart failure patients with a significantly improved degree of precision.
Daxor Corporation manufactures and markets the BVA-100, a semi-automated Blood Volume Analyzer. The BVA-100 is used in conjunction with a single use diagnostic kit. Among nationally renowned hospitals which have purchased the BVA-100 Blood Volume Analyzer after using it on a trial basis are The Mayo Clinic, The Cleveland Clinic and New York University Medical Center. The BVA-100 measures blood volume to within a 98% accuracy. More information about the BVA-100 and other Daxor products and services can be found at www.daxor.com.
