Nutritionists and experts suggest that maintaining a healthy lifestyle includes eating nutrient-packed fish and seafood, such as Bonefish Grill’s Norwegian Salmon and other market-fresh options, multiple times per week due to its high concentration of important vitamins, minerals and proteins. Additionally, seafood and fish species are great sources of Omega-3 fatty acids, which are linked to improved cardiovascular health, good cholesterol, and lower blood pressure.(1, 2) A number of Bonefish Grill’s fish and seafood entrees are wood-grilled and can be served “clean and pristine” with fresh lemon or one of the restaurant’s four signature side sauces. Among the four selections are Chimichurri Sauce, made with antioxidant-rich olive oil, and Warm Mango Salsa, a delicious blend of fresh, vitamin-rich mangos with zesty red pepper and garlic (recipe below).

“At Bonefish Grill, we celebrate our commitment to a health-conscious menu that helps our guests eat well and live better. Any night of the week, our guests can enjoy the perennial benefits of fish served exactly how they want with one of our unique signature sauces or with a hint of fresh lemon,” said Tim Curci, Bonefish Grill Founder and Senior Vice President of Menu Development and Innovation. “We are delighted to offer an award-winning menu filled with healthy options that not only taste great, but are also great for you.”

Bonefish Grill’s ‘big-city bar’ is also raising a glass to healthy living in the new year with the new Skinny Rita-Tini - a refreshing cocktail made with Sauza “Hornitos” tequila, fresh lime and agave nectar. Derived from the agave plant, agave nectar is a natural sweetener with a lower glycemic index than many artificial, processed sweeteners and is an ideal option for guests monitoring their sugar intake as part of a healthy diet and lifestyle.(3) The use of innovative and better-for-you ingredients, such as agave nectar combined with freshly squeezed juices and house-made mixes, is core to Bonefish Grill’s ongoing pursuit to shake things up and offer guests an exciting big-city bar experience in every backyard (recipe below).

The menu also includes crisp salads, non-seafood alternatives, gluten-free options and signature items like Bonefish Grill’s Baja Fish Tacos, a great handheld item topped with the Warm Mango Salsa, and Ahi Tuna Sashimi, served “sesame-seared” with wasabi and pickled ginger. With an unmistakable, melt-in-your-mouth flavor, the Ahi Tuna Sashimi is a great high-protein fish that’s packed with heart-healthy Omega-3 fatty acids, and is just one of several Bonefish Grill offerings that are smart options for guests striving to eat well to be well in 2011.(2)
