The kids may be sleeping late on Sunday mornings, but Metroplex parents are up with the sun to learn the most relevant medical and parenting information from the area's most credible source for pediatric news. "Your Child's Health," featuring pediatrician Dr. Sue Hubbard, airs on 103.7 KVIL-FM every Sunday from 7 to 8 a.m.
The one-hour, magazine-style talk show is dedicated to the physical and emotional health and well-being of children and their families. "Your Child's Health" features segments on parenting, up-to-the-minute healthcare news and profiles of inspiring children. A call-in feature allows parents to ask their own questions of Dr. Hubbard, co-host of the show, a 20-year pediatric professional and member of the medical staff at Children's Medical Center Dallas. The show also will feature other pediatric sub-specialists from the Children's medical staff, ranging from infectious disease experts to plastic surgeons to orthopaedic and sports medicine specialists.
"This radio show creates a forum for parents to ask questions and raise concerns," said Dr. Hubbard, who co-hosts the show with Dina Conte Schulz. "As a pediatrician, as well as a parent, I'm able to share well-researched, timely information from Children's, my practice and my home." Conte Schulz, winner of Cable Ace, Emmy and Gracie Allen awards, also produces the show.
"Your Child's Health," which premiered Sunday, July 31, tackles widely varying topics such as back-to-school jitters, hydration and heat exhaustion, the art of packing a healthy lunch and other pediatric concerns, as the listeners dictate. The show covers topics valuable to new parents, middle and high school moms and dads, and those sending children off to college.
"Parents love to talk about their kids, and want to know they have the best information when it comes to the health and well-being of their children. This show gives parents an opportunity to ask questions and get credible, reliable answers," said Smokey Rivers, vice president of adult contemporary programming for 103.7 KVIL. "103.7 KVIL is honored to bring 'Your Child's Health' to the air waves as a resource and a sounding board for North Texas parents."
With more than two decades of pediatric experience, Dr. Hubbard is on the medical staff of Children's Medical Center Dallas, the only academic healthcare facility in North Texas dedicated exclusively to the comprehensive care of children from birth to age 18. She also serves as an assistant clinical professor of pediatrics at UT Southwestern Medical Center, one of the top-ranked medical training facilities in the country. Dr. Hubbard and her husband have three sons, ages 21, 18 and 15.
