TMC Women’s Health Network Sponsors Annual Leadership Luncheon, Conference Feb. 28, 2011
Dr. Vivian Ho, professor of medicine at Baylor College of Medicine and professor of health economics at Rice University, is a featured speaker at the annual health leadership luncheon and conference sponsored by the Texas Medical Center Women’s Health Network Feb. 28.
Ho, along with other local health care and human services leaders, will discuss various areas of health care in the program “Making Sense Out of Chaos” at the annual leadership event which takes place from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the Rio Grande Room at The Methodist Hospital.
Keynoted by Liz Plaster, founder and president of Positive Performance L.P., and wrapped up by Ellen Cohen, candidate for Houston City Council, the conference features a full array of experts, including:
* Ho, who will discuss the economics of health care.
* Dr. Barbara Bass, chair, department of surgery, The Methodist Hospital, who will discuss leadership in health care.
* Maureen Disbot, vice president for quality operations, The Methodist Health Care System ““ Quality in Health Care.
Cohen will discuss the risks and rewards of leadership.
Individual tickets cost $50 and include lunch. Attendees can earn 3.5 contact hours by attending the entire conference and completing the evaluation tool.
