NASHVILLE, Tenn., March 9, 2011 /PRNewswire/ — Band Against MS (BAMS), a leading not-for-profit charity committed to education, research and funding programs for multiple sclerosis, is thrilled to announce BAMS Bike Across Bhutan, an exhilarating 15-day bike tour through the captivating Kingdom of Bhutan in South Asia, Nov. 4-19, 2011. This unique ride will help raise international awareness for multiple sclerosis (MS)–the leading cause of non-traumatic disability in young people throughout the world.
“MS affects people all over the globe,” says Clay Walker, president and founder of BAMS. “We wanted to take our initiatives to another part of the world, allowing riders to be immersed in one of the planet’s most unique cultures while raising awareness for this incredible cause.”
Bhutan, often referred to as the last Shangri-la, is truly a paradise on earth. Seemingly untouched by the outside world, this magical kingdom is located between India and Tibet, resting just below the breathtaking Himalayan Mountains.
On the tour, riders will experience a unique journey through the very best of Bhutan terrain. The trip itself covers 614 miles of exhilarating cycling, averaging 50 miles a day.
The BAMS Bike Across Bhutan is limited to just 20 riders, and those interested in participating are encouraged to sign up as soon as possible while space still remains.
