RMACT Fertility Doctors Contribute to Avoiding Common Obstetrics and Gynecology Errors

March 19, 2011

Drs. Spencer Richlin and Mark Leondires Co-Author Fertility Chapters

Norwalk, CT (PRWEB) March 17, 2011

Dr. Spencer Richlin of Reproductive Medicine Associates of Connecticut (RMACT) has written the fertility chapters in a new textbook titled Avoiding Common Obstetrics and Gynecology Errors. Published by Lippincott, Williams & Wilkins, the reference book is intended to be a handbook for OB/GYNs in all stages of their schooling and career and is currently available for $44.95 through http://www.amazon.com, Barnes & Noble and http://www.lww.com.

Dr. Richlin, Surgical Director and Infertility Specialist for RMACT, and his co-author Mark Leondires, Medical Director and Lead Fertility Specialist for RMACT, provide insights into infertility evaluation, transvaginal ultrasound, infertility treatment options, ovulatory dysfunction, ovarin reserve testing, tubal factor and evaluation of the semen analysis.

“OB/GYNs should be partners with infertility physicians in helping patients recognize when they need treatment,” says Dr. Richlin. “This reference book explains the basics of what causes infertility, how we test and identify the causes and how we treat it. Most importantly, it reminds OB/GYNs when a fertility specialist should become involved with treatment ““ when a patient under 35 years old has had a year of unprotected sex without getting pregnant and immediately for a woman over 35 years old.”

Along with his responsibilities at RMACT, Dr. Richlin is Chief of the Reproductive Endocrinology Division at Norwalk Hospital. Dr. Richlin is Board Certified in both Reproductive Endocrinology, Obstetrics and Gynecology. He is a member of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine.

Dr. Leondires is a Board-Certified Infertility Doctor in both Reproductive Endocrinology, Obstetrics and Gynecology. Prior to joining RMACT, he was the Director of Assisted Reproductive Technologies (ART) at the Combined Federal Program for Reproductive Endocrinology. While under his direction, the ART Program was one of the most successful in the Washington, D.C. area and in the top tenth percentile nationally. His professional society memberships include the Society of Reproductive Endocrinologists, the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and the American Society for Reproductive Medicine.
