Joe Vinson, PhD, presented preliminary findings of research conducted at the University of Scranton on the antioxidant value of various nuts. A variety of nuts were studied including almonds, pistachios, almonds and others. All fell short of the walnut which appears to be brimming with useful antioxidants.

According to Vinson, “Walnuts rank above peanuts, almonds, pecans, pistachios and other nuts. A handful of walnuts contain almost twice as many antioxidants as an equivalent amount of other commonly consumed nut.”
