Zix Corporation Encryption Services Selected By Children's Hospital and Health Center; San Diego's Premier Pediatric Care Facility to Use ZixVPM(R) and ZixPort(R) System-Wide Protection

Zix Corporation (ZixCorp(R)) (Nasdaq:ZIXI), a global provider of secure e-messaging, e-prescribing, and e-transaction applications and services, today announced that Children's Hospital and Health Center in San Diego has signed a three-year contract for ZixCorp's system-wide content filtering and email encryption services for 5,000 users.
Children's Hospital and Health Center purchased ZixVPM (Virtual Private Messenger) and ZixPort communication protection solutions as part of its security and privacy compliance efforts to meet the regulations of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA). ZixVPM will enforce email security policies to ensure secure handling of confidential data, including a pre-configured HIPAA lexicon that automatically detects and encrypts protected health information (PHI). ZixPort will provide custom branding and encrypted messaging functionality.
