Blipp Media Makes Major Technical Updates to Juvenation.org

May 6, 2011

Type 1 diabetes social network for JDRF launches with new features.

New York, NY (PRWEB) May 05, 2011

BlippMedia is making major changes to its already established Juvenation.org online health community. Since its launch, Blipp has made many enhancements to Juvenation; however, this is by far the largest to date. Blipp is introducing a complete new set of features that will help users follow content updates, user communication, changing statuses, and adding the ability to reply to the statuses of other users. We have also developed technology that will help create subset groups, a user points system, and an overall optimized mobile experience for the entire site.

Juvenation is already a vibrant social network created for and by people with type 1 diabetes and the loved ones that care for them. It was launched by the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) on World Diabetes Day, November 14, 2008.

“By proactively reaching out to the community, being part of the conversation, and by listening and following social community trends we have established a set of enhancements that fit Juvenation’s many members and is advancing the mission set forth by the JDRF,” says Mike Hasselmann, Managing Partner at BlippMedia.

With these new features BlippMedia is forecasting an increase in activity across each social category on juvenation.org. Currently the site averages 500 new members a month. These members have created over 4 million discussions to date, which drives over 60,000 different keyword searches (from google) to Juvenation. These are people looking for answers, support, and someone to talk to about diabetes.

Rachael Lewinson, National Manager, Online Communications at JDRF, says “BlippMedia has been a great partner to JDRF on our social network, Juvenation – from strategy to creative development to support and hosting. They are very easy to work with and have excellent customer service. They anticipate the needs of our community and provide valuable input as we continue to develop the site.”

Hemant Patel, Chief Technology Officer at BlippMedia adds that “in addition to these features, we have taken the opportunity to increase usability, design aesthetic, performance; and most importantly, site stability and infrastructure, improving the overall user experience. We now have a more scalable architecture that is ready for the companies growing technical needs.”
