The award is designed to recognize the government locum tenens physician whose dedication and skills have impacted the lives of those around them. The winner of this award will receive the crystal Clarus Cup award and a $10,000 donation in his or her name to the Fisher House Foundation, an organization that provides a home away from home for military families to be close to a loved one during hospitalization for an illness or injury.

The award is designed to recognize the government locum tenens physician whose dedication and skills have impacted the lives of those around them.

“We see the hard work and dedication that our physicians give in service to our veterans, but we wanted to create a way to really shine a light on their work,” said Terrence Smith, vice president of the government division at LocumTenens.com. “Our goal is to pay tribute to the excellence of physicians practicing at government facilities across the nation.”

Nominations are now being accepted for the award, and the deadline to enter is Friday, July 15, 2011. Nominees eligible for the award should:

  • Currently (or within the past 12 months) be a practicing locum tenens physician at a government facility in the United States
  • Provide patients with optimum medical care
  • Demonstrate superior and compassionate patient service
  • Serve as a role-model to other healthcare professionals
  • Be in good standing with his/her medical community

Nominations for the Clarus Cup may be submitted by peers, patients, supervisors or by the nominees themselves. Nominees may be asked to submit a current curriculum vitae or references upon request from LocumTenens.com.
