Datum (http://www.datumfiling.com) and SYSTEMATICS worked together to create a custom filing system for the Women and Infants Hospital of Rhode Island that maximized storage capacity while staying within their strict height requirements .

Emigsville, PA (PRWEB) June 10, 2011

When the Women and Infants Hospital of Rhode Island moved to a new building, their current mobile storage system was unable to fit in the area allocated for records storage due to its low ceiling clearance.

Datum, who worked in conjunction with SYSTEMATICS (http://www.systematics.biz), a Datum Authorized Reseller, created a customized filing solution flexible enough to stay within the strict height requirements while still maximizing storage space.

The low ceiling height of the room required a vertically space efficient mobile system. Datum installed a MobileTrak3® system equipped with ThinStak® shelving. The MobileTrak3® eliminates the need for redundant aisles between shelving, reducing space requirements by almost 50 percent. It also features a lower profile than most mobile systems that allows it to accommodate the hospital’s low ceiling. Most importantly, the MobileTrak3® offers the ability to expand and grow as the hospital’s storage needs increase.

The second product used in the Women and Infants Hospital was ThinStak® which can increase storage capacity by more than 50 percent in 27 percent less floor space due to its low profile shelf design. And for the variety of files the hospital may need to store, the ThinStak® product line offers various media storage options including; letter, legal, X-ray, book, binder, mammogram and DVD.

“It’s always fulfilling to work with a client like the Women and Infants Hospital, who has a great impact on the community,” said Thomas Potter, president of Datum.

Combining Datum’s two unique product lines created a customized system able to accommodate the files that the hospital needed to store while staying within the hospital’s height requirements.
