PDI now offers bleach-based surface disinfecting wipes that enable healthcare facilities to comply with the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Guideline for using a 1:10 EPA-registered bleach solution for disinfection for areas experiencing outbreaks or higher endemic rates of healthcare-associated infections (HAIs). Sani-Cloth® EPA-Registered Bleach is proven to be effective against 39 clinically relevant microorganisms in just four minutes.

Sani-Cloth® EPA-Registered Bleach completes the PDI Environmental Hygiene System of disinfection products for all areas of healthcare facilities, from high-risk sensitive areas to general everyday use. The Sani-Cloth® product portfolio includes:

  •     Super Sani-Cloth® for general use (alcohol/quat-based, two-minute contact time, currently tested against 26 microorganisms)
  •     Sani-Cloth® AF for general use, use around sensitive patients, and on sensitive equipment (alcohol-free/quat based, fragrance-free, three-minute contact time, currently tested against 25 microorganisms)
  •     Sani-Cloth® EPA-Registered Bleach for high risk areas (1:10 bleach solution, four-minute contact time, currently tested against 39 microorganisms)

“At PDI we help providers prevent infections, effectively target zero healthcare-associated infections, save lives and reduce associated costs,” said Dan Marsh, executive vice president, PDI Healthcare. “We have always offered very good products. Now, thanks to our superior product development team, we offer a great environmental hygiene system that includes best-in-class products, unparalleled clinical support and training and effective compliance aids.”

“Due to the evolving changes within microorganisms, facilities are now faced with significant challenges in preventing the transmission of HAIs on a daily basis. Because of the addition of the PDI Sani-Cloth Bleach disposable wipe, PDI can now offer customers a pathogen-specific product solution that meets the CDC Guidelines for Disinfection for those most aggressive pathogens,” said Dr. J. Hudson Garrett Jr., Director of Clinical Affairs.

Sani-Cloth® EPA-Registered Bleach is available in a convenient, ready to use canister and is currently approved in most states with approval in all 50 states expected by December 31, 2011.

The Sani-Cloth® brand is backed by 35 years of infection prevention products for the healthcare industry. Sani-Cloth® was the first germicidal wipe approved by the EPA and has been the leader in innovation of germicidal wipe technology for more than two decades. Research studies have consistently proven the effectiveness of PDI’s solutions.
