Heart to Heart International Employee Receives Guatemalan Ambassador of Peace Recognition

OLATHE, Kan., July 1, 2011 /PRNewswire/ — The Guatemala Peace Secretary has selected Jorge Coromac of Heart to Heart International, a health-focused humanitarian aid organization, to serve as an Ambassador of Peace for Guatemala in 2011 and 2012. Those selected for this position represent organizations that advocate for the peace of the Guatemalan people. Coromac was recognized at the Guatemala National Palace on June 17 for receiving this position.

Heart to Heart International’s comprehensive Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) initiative and other health programs qualified Coromac to serve in this position. In partnership with other organizations and a multitude of volunteers, Heart to Heart International has provided access to safe drinking water and improved sanitation for Guatemalans of the Solola region.
