AMA JOINS MICHIGAN PHYSICIANS TO URGE U.S. CONGRESSIONAL ACTION TO HALT MEDICARE CUTS
AMA Trustee joins MSMS President to Bring Medicare "House Call" Campaign to Michigan, available for interviews Tuesday, August 16
WHAT:
The AMA brings its Medicare "House Call" campaign to Michigan to draw attention to impending sharp Medicare cuts that will lead to an access to care problem for seniors. If Congress does not act, payments to physicians nationwide will be cut 26 percent -- well below the cost of providing care, forcing physicians to limit the number of new Medicare patients in their practice.
Michigan Senator Debbie Stabenow is one of the original sponsors of legislation currently before the Senate to reverse planned Medicare physician payment cuts.
WHO:
American Medical Association Trustee John Armstrong, M.D. will be available for one-on-one interviews on Tuesday, August 16
Michigan State Medical Society President Alan Mindlin, M.D. will be available for one-on-one interviews on Tuesday, August 16
