It was announced today that Dr. Jack Vaisman, Chief Executive Officer, President and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Advanced Medical Institute Inc. (Pink Sheets:AVMD), a leading provider of treatment for erectile dysfunction (ED) and premature ejaculation (PE) treatment in Australia, has been awarded an Innovation Patent by the Commonwealth of Australia Patent Office. The patent, titled Treatment of Premature Ejaculation, relates to various methods of treatment delivery via nasal (mucosal) inhalation and topical application of certain formulations which are used in AVMD.PK's treatment programs for premature ejaculation. These formulations have previously been used to treat PE and other medical conditions.
"I am very pleased that the Australian Patent Office has recognized our innovative work in the treatment of premature ejaculation," stated Dr. Vaisman. "We are continuing to focus much of our R&D budget and attention on developing new treatment methods and delivery systems for the treatment of PE and ED. We anticipate that the development of these methods will allow us to substantially reduce the amount of medication required for treatment, as the dosage levels which are clinically effective through our delivery systems are much lower than those used by any of our competitors in the treatment of PE and ED and as patients may no longer need to use these medications chronically. These systems will also enable many patients, unable to use standard treatment methods such as oral intake, to be successfully treated for PE and ED," he added. Dr. Vaisman is in the process of formally licensing the rights of use of the new patent to AVMD.
