THE number of people who die due to alcohol-related diseases has gone up by almost 20 per cent in five years.
In parts of the country the rise is closer to 50 per cent.
A smokescreen of protest is going up over what is called 24-hour boozing.
But the real crisis is with us now. In just about every city and town and even some villages.
It used to be said that the British disease was wildcat strikes.
Today the British disease is alcohol abuse.
