Bernard Health's BerniePortal and HSA Bank are now integrated, so that small and medium-sized employers can experience the ease of Health Savings Account administration previously reserved for employers with thousands of employees. This means a lot of time and cost savings, along with much happier employees.

Nashville, Tennessee (PRWEB) August 17, 2011

Today, Bernard Health and HSA Bank announced a Health Savings Account technology integration between Bernard’s BerniePortal(TM) and HSA Bank.

With this integration, small and medium-sized employers can experience the ease of Health Savings Account (HSA) administration that had previously only been available to employers that had thousands of employees.

The problem: Before the integration, employers that offered HSAs had to manage a disjointed administrative process. Because these accounts are individually owned by the employee, the onus is generally on the employee to get their account opened on time. When this does not happen, it costs the employer and employee a lot of time and frustration. It’s a mess.

The solution: With the integration between the BerniePortal and HSA Bank, there are no extra steps to take. If an employee chooses the HSA-eligible health plan, their HSA is automatically opened by HSA Bank. It’s simple.

The result: 100% of employees who choose their employer’s HSA-eligible plan get their HSA opened, versus industry averages reported in the 30% range. This means a lot of cost and time savings, along with much happier employees.

“The hassle that has discouraged many small and medium sized employers from really embracing HSAs is something that employers with thousands of employees and extensive resources simply do not have to put up with. The BerniePortal team and HSA Bank have worked together to solve this problem and bring “˜large employer IT’ to employers with 30 to 800 employees,” explained Jocelyn Chambers from Bernard.
