The Cancer Prevention Institute of California (CPIC) has elected Louisa Gloger as the newest member of its Board of Trustees. Ms. Gloger is Co-Founder and Chief Financial Officer of Triple Step Toward the Cure, an organization that raises awareness of triple negative breast cancer.
Triple negative is a relatively rare, yet aggressive subtype of breast cancer that disproportionately affects young, premenopausal women and women of color. Personally affected by triple negative breast cancer, Ms. Gloger is especially motivated to join CPIC’s cancer prevention efforts.
“As a young survivor of breast cancer, I find the work of the entire team at CPIC to be incredibly important and inspiring,” said Ms. Gloger. “As a result of their diligent research to find the causes of cancer and accompanying community education, we are daily stepping closer to the prevention of all cancers.”
Ms. Gloger joins 11 other Trustees who work toward CPIC’s mission of preventing cancer and reducing its burden where it cannot yet be prevented. Part of Ms. Gloger’s duties will include serving on Board committees for the organization.
“We are so pleased Louisa has joined the Board,” said Samuel Bronfman II, Chairman of the CPIC Board of Trustees. “In addition to her business sense, Louisa is a cancer survivor and a passionate and energetic advocate for those who have triple negative breast cancer. She brings a youthful perspective to the Cancer Prevention Institute of California and will help us to “ËœGet In Front‘ of cancer by sharing our critical work to find the causes of cancer with a younger generation.”
Ms. Gloger co-founded Triple Step Toward the Cure, an organization whose mission is to fight triple negative breast cancer by providing education to the public, support for prevention and treatment, encouragement and financial support to patients; and empowerment for women at risk in underserved communities.
