Posted on: Wednesday, 17 August 2005, 21:00 CDT

Cytori Therapeutics, Inc. (Frankfurt:XMP), a global biotechnology company innovating regenerative medicine, announced today that Marc H. Hedrick, M.D., President for Cytori Therapeutics, is an invited speaker at the Cell-Based Regenerative Medicine Symposium: Road to Clinical Applications, August 18, 2005 in Japan. His presentation will focus on the development of innovative stem and regenerative cell based therapies and business model strategies.

The conference is being organized by Kiyoshi Kurokawa, M.D., President of the Science Council of Japan, to shape strategies for bringing regenerative therapies, including stem cell therapeutics, to commercialization. High level representatives from across multiple disciplines within the Japanese healthcare system will participate. These participants will include representatives from the Japanese Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (MHLW), the prestigious RIKEN Discovery Research Institute, the biotechnology, medical device and pharmaceutical industries as well as many leading regenerative medicine scientists.

"We are honored to present at this distinguished assembly of speakers to provide perspectives on the important role private organizations will play in the development of regenerative therapies and technologies," said Dr. Hedrick. "Facilitating dialogue between governing bodies, universities and private industry alike is essential to most effectively achieve this goal. We look forward to exchanging ideas with key opinion leaders in Japan."
