Hospital Death Rates Published

St George’s Hospital in Tooting, London will publishing the death rates of its patients from today. Tim Jones, the head of Communications at St George’s hospital said: ‘This is about patient choice, accountability and openness. If a patient is sitting with their GP discussing where they should go for an operation, they are more likely to prefer to go to hospitals that publish mortality rates.’
