MOSCOW. Aug 25 (Interfax) – Russian clinics will use a vaccine intended for preventing ordinary flu this year in order to prevent bird flu cases in humans, chief of the Russian Consumer Rights and Welfare Oversight Service Gennady Onishchenko announced on Thursday.
“We’ve produced at least 20 million dozes of vaccine for this purpose,” Onishchenko told a news conference.
Onishchenko said that Russian medical researchers will start developing experimental bird flu vaccines in October for further testing.
