Texas Children's Hospital Participates in Flight Evacuation of Patients From New Orleans Hospitals

HOUSTON, Aug. 30, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Texas Children's Hospital, the nation's largest pediatric hospital, is sending its Kangaroo Crew(R) transport team to Louisiana to evacuate seriously ill children from several New Orleans hospitals affected by Hurricane Katrina.
About 20 patients are headed to Texas Children's from hospitals including Charity Hospital of New Orleans and Tulane University Hospital. Texas Children's expects the number of patients needing care to increase as the situation continues to unfold in Louisiana.
Having survived smaller storms with the help of other hospitals, Texas Children's is grateful for the opportunity to assist its neighbors in Louisiana as they recover from the devastating hurricane.
