Maximus Inc. has won a one-year, $17 million contract from the state of Georgia's Community Health Department to provide enrollment broker services for managed care, the company announced today.
The contract, which has three one-year options, could be worth $60 million, if all options are exercised.
Under the contract, Maximus will serve as the enrollment broker assisting eligible Medicaid and children's health insurance program participants to enroll in the state's mandatory managed care program. It is a full-risk care system that provides an array of health-care services to eligible members through at least two Care Management Organizations in each of the six regions of the state.
The company will operate a toll-free call center, offer self-service enrollment options over the Internet and conduct extensive community outreach to improve understanding of Georgia's health-care system.
Maximus currently provides similar services to 11 states, including California, Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Massachusetts, Michigan, New York, Texas, Vermont and Virginia. Since 1996, the company has enrolled approximately 28 million Medicaid and state children's health insurance program recipients into managed care.
Maximus has more than 5,100 employees and annual sales of $603.8 million, according to Hoover's Online of Austin, Texas.
