All 375 VCA Animal Hospitals in the U.S. Offer Expanded Hope and Help to Pets Impacted By the Hurricane

VCA Animal Hospitals has expanded its offer of free boarding to all hurricane-affected animals as the demand continues to increase in the wake of rescue and recovery efforts. Offered at all 375 nationwide animal hospitals on a space available basis until pets can be reunited with their families, this service will ensure safe and secure housing for beloved family pets displaced and exposed as a result of the crisis. While thousands of families begin the difficult task of rebuilding their lives, VCA hopes this will help to alleviate the mounting health threat to exposed companion animals.
"During the recovery efforts, an overwhelming number of family pets are being rescued but have no place to go in a crisis of this magnitude," said Art Antin, Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for VCA Antech. "There are just not enough facilities to handle all the rescues and by opening our doors, we hope to alleviate the suffering and prevent unnecessary euthanasia due to the pet housing shortage," he added.
