Malawi to Launch Nationwide Anti-Measles Vaccination Campaign 21 September

[Presenter] Over one million children aged between nine to 59 months are expected to receive measles vaccine during the national measles campaign.
The campaign will run for three days and has been organized by the Ministry of Health and Population.
Briefing the press today, deputy director for preventive health, Jonathan Nkhoma, said the ministry has decided to conduct the campaign, which starts next Wednesday [21 September] to reduce measles transmission.
[Nkhoma] As one way of reducing childhood morbidity and mortality as well as strengthening the interruption of measles transmission in communities, the ministry is prepared to vaccinate all children with the required age, regardless of whether the child was vaccinated or had measles infections before.
